Seven Steps to a Safer Workplace
Our occupational health and safety program ensures a safe and productive workplace and environment for all. Our primary goal is to protect our team members, co-workers and partners by helping create workplaces that are safe and secure from injury. Our company expects all members to adhere to company and worker's compensation regulations.
Step 1
Health and Safety Policy
We have a developed a statement of our commitment to the health and safety programs, including the aims of the program and the responsibilities of the employer, supervisors and our team members.
Step 2
Regular Inspection
At High Grade Mill Installations we regularly monitor work procedures, equipment and machinery to ensure hazards to all workers eliminated and controlled. We operate under the principle of conducting a “ Standard Due Diligence Inspection”. We are disciplined and response driven to taking all reasonable care to protect the well being of all employees, co-workers and partners in our business.
Step 3
Education and Training
We make sure our workers know about all pertinent hazards in the workplace; are familiar with health and safety regulations that apply and ensure that workers demonstrate competency at the tasks they are required to perform.
To ensure our employees are kept up-to-date on the latest safety issues we have developed an internal web site that they can access from any destination they are located.
Step 4
Monthly Meetings
On a monthly basis or as needed we discuss health and safety matters, identify any unsafe condition or practice and implement solutions to any heath or safety concerns.
Step 5
Accident Investigation
As required we determine the causes of accidents and near misses that that corrective actions can be taken to prevent similar incidents.
Step 6
Records and Statistics
Our Operating standards and policies relating to records and statistics are as follows. We maintain a first aid treatment record book, inspection and accident investigation reports and records of programs and training. These documents allow our team at High Grade Installations the capability to identify trends of unsafe conditions or work procedures and also allow us the opportunity to celebrate the “safety” success stories in the field.
Step 7
Maintaining and Effective Program
At High Grade Mill Installations Safety is a serious component of our business. Therefore we review our Safety Program quarterly to identify the extent of effectiveness and deficiencies of the existing health and safety activities. As a working team we discuss and examine the potential for future injury and the progress of the organizations current safety effort.
